Leftovers Mock Lasagna

I found a neat recipe for pizza casserole on For Mamas blog (just click the link to see the original recipe) just in time to use up lot-o-leftovers! So... lets start with a picture of the yummy gooeyness on my plate...

First step is to preheat the oven to 350. Then get to browning some burger. I added pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and onions to the burger. After browning drain and if you’re like me and want to throw in some diced tomatoes just simmer the drained burger and dice tomatoes while the pasta cooks. Cook pasta in boiling water until tender.

Now you’ll need to dig out your pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese and your 9x13 (minimum) pan. First into the pan is a thin layer of sauce, followed by half the pasta, then half the meat. Next a layer of cheeses and then repeat: pasta, meat, cheese. Finally on the top throw some pepperoni and you will end up with something like this:

Then you bake it for 30 minutes covered with aluminum foil. Then remove the foil and continue baking for about 15 more minutes and when it comes out of the oven it should look like this:

 Now Enjoy!

Now for the ingredients, fair warning I am bad about measuring things so most of these are estimates.

12 oz assorted pasta + water for boiling
1 ½ pounds ground beef
26 oz pasta sauce (I added an extra ½ cup of leftover sauce to mine)
20 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese (I just sprinkle it on),
Handful of pepperoni slices
Optional extras:
Assorted spices diced or stewed tomatoes ½ an onion, diced ½  a pepper, diced
